Our team at National Coalition 100 Black Women, Inc., Prince George's County Health Committee, is presenting an intergenerational trauma workshop featuring an expert within the mental health field.
"The historical context of intergenerational trauma may lie in the American slaveratory* practices. We are aware that slavery has taken place throughout the history of humankind. Secondly, looking back at our childhoods, we may find characteristic behaviors that partly define who we are today, good and not so good. Thirdly, if we look around in our society, we may find cultural normalities that have been shared, forced, and destroyed. But how has all this affected our spirit, soul, and body? In this workshop, let's open up about Historical / Intergenerational trauma; we may find some clues."
The workshop is free, but registration is required. To register, fill out this brief form. Continental breakfast will be served.
